This charming 72 bedroom hotel packs a great deal of punch for a boutique residence. It includes a large all day dining restaurant, cocktail bar and lounge, a private speakeasy bar, meeting and conference facilities as well as one of Dublin’s largest outdoor terraces.

Lighting is instrumental in creating an individual presence for each bar and dining area. The lobby lounge bar comprises an elliptical coffer bisected by a suspended glass and drinks shelf, illuminated by reflected light punctuated with discretely located downlights to light the counter below. A soft halo of light highlights the counter top curve and provides a warm wash of light to the high back seats. The view to the restaurant beyond is beautifully framed by back lit glass and lit shelving bottles, which reflects off the warm brick finish.

The all day dining restaurant, flanked on both sides with glazing, is flooded with natural light during the day. The ceiling coffers create a reflecting platform to balance the daylight and provide a well lit interior. As night falls the general lighting dimes to reveal decorative elements: a beautiful shell pendant, glass wall lights and a feature wall of moss and planting. Effective lighting design enables this multifunctional space to have a completely different atmosphere from day to night, thereby increasing customer engagement and interest in the brand, which ultimately leads to more revenue.

The speakeasy bar, devoid of natural light, sparkles like an elegant jewel with soft washes of light from behind the banquettes, uplighting the soffit and lifting the impression of the space. The central bar glows with indirect light emanating from the drinks shelving.
The rear terrace extends the premise of outdoor dining with the use of a covered pergola and outdoor heating. Accent spotlights, discretely located within the awnings, cast pools of light onto the tables below, framed by lit planters, which provide a sense of intimacy and privacy. On dark winter nights, the halo lit panelling provide a warm “wall lighting” ambience to the space.
